Essay: "Bullies"by Joseph Alvin Parrish Beginning Experiences with Bullies
At heart, and in my nature, there you will find that I have an aversion to violence, but at first it was not always this way. There is a bully in all of us. I guess that you could say that my first experience with a bully started with myself. I guess that one would be of the persuasion, that being the bully is acceptable as long as you're the one who is dishing it our. I first encountered a bully when I was attending elementary school. One fine day while I was sitting in my classroom, this other student approached me question me about joining his gang. Plainly put, I was mildly annoyed, and taken quite by surprise. This was my first encounter with a bully. At eight years of age living in a new environment in a new city, I was living in a an orphanage in Waco, TX, but we we're attending public school at Crestview Elementary. That was where I met my first bully, have you heard the gospel truth: Bad company corrupts food morals? Something foul rubbed off on me that day. Fortunately it did not affect me whole-heartedly because as of today October 20, 2007, I am proud to say that I still posses that aversion to violence, even though it lies formant within me. At the slightest provocation, or pushed to the edge, it's ugly heard will rear. But now I would like to speak up for myself, I am not a bully and never have been. Yes, I've been provoked to anger but a bully, never. I've been a victim on numerous occasions and I geld powerless to do anything about it. Remember, in my heart, and in my nature, I am a laid back fellow. I don't believe in violence because it can cause great bodily hard. The word of God says that we should love one another. Intimidation, a vengeful spirit, nurturing a heart of domination, is the wrong path to take because it's just not right. What goes around comes around, you believe that don't you? Anyway, what do you hope to accomplish, what are you trying to prove? U just can't stand a bully going around threatening people as a means of using intimidation to get his way. I can remember being in the Waco Mclennan county Jail and coming into contact with bullies. This one man tried to intimidate me into giving up my lunch and dinner trays. Unfortunately I'm ashamed to admit that I was scared senseless. I was afraid of him hitting me with his fist, and so to avoid that from happening, I voluntarily coughed up my dinner tray even though my stomach would be growling. I guess that bullies feel sorry too, because he allowed me to go ahead and eat. Yet still I was ashamed because all the other guys witness this spectacle. My bully experience began right here in jail and continued on here in my penitentiary experience. Here in my prison experience, I've found also that the strong prey on the weak. In prison where I am today, I am an eyewitness of bullies in action. A bully is a person who uses his strength or power to hurt of frighten others. You've been locked up for so long now that you've become desperate and sex-starved so you attempt to sexually molest someone of your same sex. Ok, so what you're muscle-bound and very strong, does that mean it's right for you to take advantage of someone? Here is prison that's called extortion, which will get you in big trouble with the authorities here. You better be careful, you ole bully and start showing some love or else one day you can look forward to getting a taste of your own medicine. I think it's only fair that you meet your match and you get back in return, what you've been dishing out. You ole bully, when are you gonna learn from the consequences of your actions that you're gonna burn, burn, burn? If you don't get your act together and stop making all those treats, someone is going to get you in return, so have you made up you mind yet bullies? |
