Essay: "Expectations"Funny Word and Queerer Meaningby Tim Hampton Expectation is a funny word and has an even queerer definition. We all have expectations about some things or others. Our free world people, "expects" us to do good, do our time, and come home, but as our time starts, their expectations, could cause a detour for their hopes, because they don't know what's going on or the rules to this underground world. Even though we may try to give them what they expect, especially to come home the same gender we left. Some expect their homies and hometts, to have their back, in times of need and crisis. But of course, those expectations eventually get altered because they burn off. But then again that's expected of them, because they're only in it for a free ride or to protect themselves. So, why expect anything? Expectations are not a necessity in life, just a hope. Of course, expectations can go in one's favor unexpectedly, as well as cause hurt. Either by winning the lotto, having a winning lottery ticket, winning tickets to a concert, etc. I guess, it's like the last minute moment. When you back out to go somewhere, give him or her a little bit, get drunk, married, have that one night stand and get a STD or pregnant. Your mate hit you for the first time and you don't leave because you're in love; but told yourself you would if it ever happened. Funny huh? No! But that's Expectation for you. So, who can really say what expectation is all about, or the meaning for the word? Nobody because everybody is everybody is Expected to say one thing or another about what's expected of the word expectation. But like I said, "it's a funny word and has an even queerer definition."
