Essay: "Food"

by Italo Dixon
If you eat the food that you desire whenever you want, you might not appreciate it as much as someone who's been deprived of that privilege. It seems like at times, we want what we can't have, and when we get it, we don't want it anymore, like its value depreciates upon acquisition. Personally, I can't choose my meals at the time, but I still get three meals a day. Although the food might be trash sometimes, it still fills you up and I think of those who aren't so fortunate. Imagine watching you family dying slowly of starvation and not being able to do anything about it, it's like that for some people. And yet, there are powerful governments and extremely wealthy individuals who do absolutely nothing about this. It's a cold world.
