Essay: "General Essay"by Tim Hampton Abandonment
What does it mean? How does it feel? It means to me, to be left out, with no one to reach out to. It feels like you're the only person in this world that doesn't exist. I know what this means, and how it feels, because I'm living like this on a daily basis. How can one reach out to another when there isn't anyone else there. You can't. Because you don't exist in their eyes, even though you can be seen, heard, touched, and what not. But what's the use if it's a one way deal. How can people abandon things and people, when its source still has some use? How can people turn their noses up at people less fortunate or of lower social class than them? Does it make them any better than the less fortunate or the abandoned? No. Sometimes things do happen to make a detour in a persons' life. But is it worth taking that detour and "abandoning" a "loved" one, or something with value. It's funny, because people will choose fortune or priceless items, over a life. Just because they do, does it mean that the item has more value and worth, then the life one has brought into the world? Does it mean that people are more materialistic these days? Yes, and yes. Is there any excuse for abandonment, especially, when one is life and one is without meaning? No. I'm not just talking about myself now. I'm speaking in general. People do it so much these days, it seems like a fad. And the thing is, abandonment doesn't have a color or race to it. It's like it's no shame for the people who do it. Whether it's putting a baby in the dumpster, in a garbage bag and dumped on the highway. Or even animals. If a person doesn't love something, why get it, love it and then throw it away? Is it to see how heartless and ruthless one can be? Is it because one was taught to act this way? I personally can't say that's one of the reasons, but who knows? People do things like that (abandonment) out of frustration and aggravation, I believe. Maybe there are some people with mental issue and can't think straight. I really don't know which one is worse. Abandonment or abortion. Do people who abandon a life, have a conscience? Maybe. Maybe not. But then again, abandonment can have something good come out of life and make that person a better person. A responsible person. But, the odds are for some one being found by abandonment and turned into a decent person? Now, what are the odds of someone being abandoned everyday, second, minute, or hour? Exactly. Abandonment. |
