Essay: "Neighbors"by Jermaine Hicks
In our cells we are nothing but capitalistic property. To our families, we are brothers, sisters, son and daughters. To the human race we could be just someone in the way or someone in the making. But to the universe, we are a jewel. Every neighbor is a jewel, some dual, some dazzling in light. When we realize this, we come to look at our neighbors from a different perspective; understanding them, moving towards them in ways that will not cause conflict, never destructively because our path is illuminated. We will strive to enlighten theirs. Once we've accomplished universal brotherhood, what would be war? What would be hate? What is the highest nature? Love. This is the universal goal.
