Essay: "Sources of Strength"

by Paul Tovar
Every time I begin a theme topic I look at each topic word individually all the way around. I try to analyze the theme as best I can in order to use it in the most significant way for my fellow colleagues to enjoy. This theme begins with source. A source is the root, origin, start or cause. Then we have strength, which means power, force, might, and even healthiness or soundness. Put these two words together with Â'of' in the middle and we got our theme. I'm always trying to continue with a positive attitude. It keeps me healthy and sound. Everyday there are difficulties one way or another. Yet, I deal with each problem and cope with the outcome however way it comes. I, being a prisoner myself in one state of this country, believe I must use this time to my advantage rather than the state's. If I waited for the state to give me the advantage, I'd still be waiting. So I am constantly applying myself to books or listening to others for what is or can be known to me as an individual. Most men desire Power. But most men do not know how to achieve this desire. Power is energy at work. You must understand that in order to have power, you must put energy to work first. Energy is the ability to work. Looking at this theme in the sense of an individual like myself, my source of strength is my steadfast determination to supervene this desire I have inside my heart. My desire is my strength. My desire is to prevail from my wrongdoing and overcome this infliction of punishment placed on me. I must go to the root of the wrong. Regardless of if I was right or wrong or I'm guilty or innocent, I was and am in this position. The root is where it all begin. And my desire is to fix what was broken. My individual life has all sorts of sources. Some are physical and some are mental. Yet, I know that my ability to work for my power will help me to achieve my goal to succeed. Nothing is easy or free. But if I asked myself if I can win the desired Power, I'll answer myself "yes." Your point of view is how you begin your strength to be healthy. I am in prison and I'm a lucky man because I know the formula to strength. I hope you find your source of strength.
