As for second chances being a curse...well, this is primarily due to the person who is given a second chance, the reason being that a lot of people have a very corrupted way of thinking due to the way life goes on around them. Most of these people would use the opportunity of a second chance to try to get away or out of a predicament they're in. These people are liberated only to plot and plan ways to get away with future wrongdoing. A lot of this frame of thinking comes from a polluted mind, one that has been overcome by the poisons and stresses in life such as poverty, young parenthood, addiction, and acceptance. These people speak of having no clue of the real meaning of life, which can be a curse! Some individuals are not capable of taking the steps to change because it seems like a challenge too big to achieve. This is caused by a lack of self worth. Others given a second chance will make it worthless by taking from others' lives and causing pain. If most people would learn from their first mistake, then there would be fewer wrongs done than could be given by a second chance.

While some people think of another chance as another opportunity not to get caught again, others think of it as an opportunity to renew oneself. There are many ways to renew oneself this because so much can be lost by our mistakes: family, friends, jobs, properties, feelings, support, and much, much more. You have to first evaluate yourself and figure out what you want out of life and what person you want to become. Then you need to make steps to obtain your goals. You have to be patient, open minded, and able to let your pride go at times in order to succeed. You must become attuned with yourself and make good, solid decisions. We all need support, so we have to gain trust and confidence from our family and friends. Above all, you have to understand that we all make mistakes and you have to move on. Quit dwelling on the past and make new steps to get out of old atmospheres! Once you free your mind to be all you can be without the influence of any substances or false hope, then you're well on your way to renewing yourself. All of this can be brought about by a second chance!

In my eyes a second chance is an opportunity for life! We can't change how we've done things before but being given a second chance opens doors to be to whoever you feel you can be. Without another chance in anything you can't correct your ways of thinking, the outlook of your future, or the way people see you. It is a way to turn the bad into the good, make a change and leave the wrongdoing behind. There are many who only get one chance and hope and wish every day that there could be a second chance, one that they know they may never get. This is why I consider it an opportunity for life! A curse or a blessing...

Some would argue that without second chances the world we live in would be a better place. I'm sure these people who feel this way have their points, but no one can say that they were never given a second chance. People give chances to us and people are quick to look down on people as a way to gain control over others. They try to gain control with the word chance. Chance leads to your choice "What do I do?" In turn, this leads to life. Do wrong and there is always the chance that there won't be another chance! So when you ask me about second chances, I these are words that carry a lot of meaning to me and words that I live for. They are my survival, morning, noon, and night. They are the food I eat, the water I drink, and the air I breathe.

Above people is a greater power. Will this power let me live until I can get a second chance? For that matter, are any of us sure that we can live that long?

If I am blessed with a second chance I will use the understanding and knowledge from the losses I have taken and make the best out of what I have! A second chance would give life to not only me but to those that love and care about me, who lost a part of their life when I wasn't around. A second chance means life to me.
