Prisoner Books
After seeing the poems written by the young men at the MacCormick Secure Center, Lynn Andersen, Director of the Alternatives Library, was inspired to set up a series of poetry workshops for the residents. With a grant from Poets & Writers, Inc., the Alternatives Library was able to coordinate the series which began the book project. This book is the collaborative effort of numerous people who donated their time, energy, and financial support. The library would like to offer a heartfelt thanks for making this project a reality.
Through the generosity of some of our friends and supporters, we have been able to continue and expand our programs. Donations are always welcome and needed and with a donation you can receive a copy of the books below. The book covers shown below are an example of our local prison projects.
