Essay: "Friendship"

by M.,Keith
"Friendship"

As for friendship, since my mom and sister died, I've only got two people out there pulling for me. They're in their sixties and seventies. One is a female cousin -- the only family member out of hundreds that keeps in touch. I may parole to her house. My other friend is an old pen pal who stuck by me for about twelve years now -- even after I scammed him out of some money he forgave me and still writes me. That was a real wake-up call for me and had a big hand in helping turn my thinking around about how my life of crime affects good intending people. I've discovered I do have a conscience. Maybe there's hope for me after all. Sigh. Light and Laughter, Keith M.
