Essay: "Expectations"

by Illinois Barconey III
Whoever reads the following words should fully understand that dreams don't always come true. One's only purpose in these modern times is to expect things to get better and prepare for the worst. In prehistoric days one can only imagine how social norms were more civil and structured. After the Great Flood, the beginning of modern civilization started in Africa with man commandeering his destiny. Since European invasion of Africa (south), for the first time, people of color can enjoy the wonderful sights and history of their country. The reason being, Tourist Industry has finally allowed people of color to travel throughout their own land.

Being trapped in your own consciousness in a fee society is the most devastating form of bondage that has yet to be remedied in modern times. Being confined in a penal institution may only make matters worse. One who is on death row, sentenced to death knows the criminal justice system, and public outcry believes one can turn their life around. Christian morals, for which this country was founded, plays no part in a governor's decision to grant clemency for a condemned person.

The media reveal more detrimental facts than family members of victims. Years and years on death row, appealing through the courts in an attempt to get your sentence commuted to life in prison, is a procedure that's incapable for our U.S. Supreme Court to judge.

Expecting prison to reform and to take shape in modern times is too much for our leaders to comprehend or imagine because confinement is their ideology that keeps society safe. If this is not working why not sign an executive order in our society, eg: schools, adequate housing, jobs, loans, healthcare, income, to just name a few.
