Essay: "Fresh Air"

by Paul Tovar
When I first look at this topic, "Fresh Air", I remember some good childhood times sleeping over at a friends or cousins and waking up early to go outside first thing. I remember how that smell is. Have you ever gone fishing late at night and fished all night into the early morning hours? This is what I'm talking about. I still love the mornings. From my cell I can look out as far as my eyes can see. I look and notice the morning dew lingering on the ground or trees traveling through the hills. And it looks fresh. But one must actually look at the true meaning of this topic. Air means the invisible mixture of gases that surrounds the earth. Fresh means cool and refreshing. But is our air really fresh? Look at all the crap that goes up into the air. Look at all the major factories that pollute out skies. Ever have someone live close by that even enjoys sending up unwanted smelly air? Or have you ever talked to someone that just has an odor coming out, even when they were talking. The smell would come out of his nose. Do we ever get any fresh air? How much tribulation and distress do we have to go through? The air is freaking gross. Of course this is the negative perspective on this topic. However; if you actually look at it in the positive way, every breath we do inhale is truly fresh. Every moment of our lives depends on the breath we take. Our breath keeps our heart pumping. I even know a bunch of guys that are here for taking too much breath through a crack pipe. Oh they like that fresh air. But personally, I'm extremely thankful for every breath I am able to take. In here I even imagine my childhood years or remember my fishing mornings. And if I really want to improvise my imaginations, I turn on my fan full blast to cause the cool breeze. As for the guy that lives next door that enjoys his foulness, I recommend you light a match or wick. Be thankful you can breathe all alone without assistance. And understand that every breath you take is truly, "Fresh Air".
