Essay: "Gratitude"

by Jose Zuniga
I'm not one to preach the Bible and yet I thank God for all his blessing bestowed upon me. Regardless of me being incarcerated, how many people can honestly say I am grateful for still being alive and well and in good spirits? Not many, because of the inner anger that comes with their confinement. I for one am content for the time being because of my gratitude towards those around me that chose to guide me in a correct path of prison life that have enlightened me. And for my "family", that after so many years are still hanging in there tough, helping me out in any way they can and this is priceless bar none. Now let's talk about you and other related prisoner support people, do volunteers fall from trees? No they don't, the state doesn't truly care, but now in California the tax payers are tired and they are making them care, so in short, thank you for opening your doors to those of us in need of rehabilitative measures. I am grateful.
