Essay: "Sources of Strength"

by Jesse M. Govea
Strength can be defined by physical ability and powers, spiritual powers, and by mental ability. Each in its own category, yet, strength can also be defined by unity, group power, and through the power of pen or pencil that the writer wields, or the power of speech by gifted speakers. We can compare them for example to the strength of a power lifter, the champion of the world. Can a power lifter match up to a giant fork lift? No physical strength has its limits. All the physical strength of man and woman, have limits on every scale, the best divers cannot dive to the bottom of the ocean without help of man made devices, such as artificial air-tanks to help them breathe underwater. The fastest swimmers cannot swim across the oceans, so man invented rafts, and great ships. And the fastest runners could not run for thousands of miles non stop so man invented a car to transport his body from point a to b.

These machines man invented help man, and carry him deep under the ocean, or across it, over land or over great oceans, this helps man live longer, cuts on the war and tear of taxing the body physically. We are so smart, we put a trunk in our cars to carry our stuff, and extra seats to carry our partner, and later on to carry our whole family. Life is good...We have looked up to the sun and moon since man could see. And would see birds of all sizes fly by. Some really big birds that could feed the whole clan and imagine the giant chicken-legs...WOW! So man had the urge to fly after them. Some giant birds that were caught while on the ground feeding or laying giant eggs were killed and eaten, and their feathers used on spears and arrows to give them flight as a bird; but spears and arrows only flew short distances and man salivated and matched birds of all kinds fly over laughing at them...HAW!...HAW!...HAW!

This only ignited man's imagination and the next set of wings from a bird they killed were attached to the arms of a man to try and fly after those birds. Most men met their own death...as they tried to imitate birds taking off from cliffs or other high places. That did not stop man's urge to fly. Just look at us now!! Space station, robots in space, space shuttle, rockets, super sonic jets, transatlantic flights...non stop! But the birds still laughed at us. The source of strength for each event in life, be it the salmon who swims miles up river against the current to spawn and the birds and other migratory animals that travel by air, water, and land for thousands of miles to procreate mate and die...

And the cycle continues. Sources of strength can love, or love of country; we sacrifice all...life, limbs, and blood our own and others. For love of woman, men have killed each other and started wars. For love of God. Each religion around today has fought one another for the love of their God. There is a small passage in the Bible that sums up this subject. Â'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me' Phillippians 4:13. there, that's the source of strength. If we can learn how to tap into that source of strength, nothing would be impossible for us. Even to move a mountain. Death would have no meaning. We would have the strength to defeat death and live for a thousand years. We would be able to travel in the spiritual form anywhere and faster than any jet! Imagine that!! I am just thinking, in that instant of thought, you could be anywhere you wanted to. And no one would hunger...with a few fish the whole world could be fed and nourished! A guy named Samson had tapped the source and his strength was known to be that of twenty men and he was feared. Because he was a good guy. There was another guy sort of like Donald Trump named King Solomon, he too tapped into that same source of strength. To be the best at everything we do, in whatever field we choose, we need to tap into that same source of strength, without it, we cannot succeed for long. We may be successful for a short while but we will fail.

The source of strength can help us keep going strong to overcome any obstacle we may find ourselves faced with in life. Even death! Amazing how so many ignore it and prefer the failure route, the path of struggle and sure failure and death. I believe love is a very powerful source of strength, and Christ is the source of strength that powers love. The tools to find the source are all in the instruction book called the Bible. The world's best selling book around, better than Harry Potter.

The sound of a baby crying has the power to bring his loving mother out of a deep sleep, and running to the babies' aide. The same sound can drive a man insane...HA!

That is why institutions have Men separated from little children. But the source of strength has stated; to be like little children. Cry and he will run to your aid. So there is one secret on how to tap into that great source of strength. The source of strength in a thermal nuclear bomb is the tiniest of particles, but like a child with tremendous power, it can unleash when it cries out. The stealth of a UFO, and its source of power, if we could only tap into it, as we did into the source of power that is behind the nuclear bomb, would be un-comparable.

We(men) have a tendency to give everything a name. This started way back in the creation story, in the Garden where Adam was instructed to name all the beasts and ever since then...we name everything! Just think about it! The source of strength is the source of everything all around us, even our names! My mind is just boggled. You will have to decide yourself what the source of strength means to you. I shared a little bit of my views. But that is only the tip of the iceberg...and that is all I can do for now...but, no doubt...the source is out there...man maybe will find out one day when the source comes down from heaven...like one of the guys in the Bible said, in the ring of fire...could it be a UFO? I believe that it will. But that's just me.
