Essay: "Taking a Stand"

by Roger Hartley
To what will you take a stand on? Will it be to go to vote, defined you child, when he is accused of doing something wrong?

There is many ways to take a stand, for me it was to look deep into myself and say I no longer wish to live the life I am living. It has been hard to do! I have live the way I did for 30 years, and was set in my ways. I must have a stand with myself if I ever wish to be granted parole and live a normal life. But how normal a life can I live after being imprison for 20 to 25 years?

It's time for many of us in here to stand up to our own self and change our ways. It's the only way we will stay out of prison. We can do it with a little help if given.

Sometime soon I feel the tax payer is going to take a stand here in California and vote no more for prisons, due to the fact that 35 prisons are enough. There are plans to build more of them, but with what money? Sooner or later when we all find a reason to take a stand and we should all be ready!!!!
