I don't know who said it, but, its been said that a man who stands for nothing, will fall for anything...Now, I've heard also that a man with nothing to die for has nothing to live for...I can't truthfully say which is right or wrong...All of us have our set of morals and principles that we govern our selves with everyday...All of us got these by who ever raised us basically...My sole point is that behavior is la learned trait....Keeping that in mind: In prison usually when one takes a stand its for something more than likely he can understand....honor, pride, respect, money, family, and friendship. For most, the use of violence is justified...Over the years I have seen many expose their self to more time, even lose their life...
Now; myself, I have only recently attempted to live my life as a semi-pacifist. But even I at times will be forced by certain circumstances to make a stand of some sort....Why??? Simple, I do believe that there are some things worth upholding...even if it means to the point of loss of life for someone...Example, I don't feel that abortion is right, but I wouldn't bomb a clinic for doing them...That is extremely over board by my out hook on life...
The reality of "Taking a Stand" is whether you feel that the decision is right for you....then I, for one hope that we are all able to do so without going on our fellows...
