Essay: "Mind Games"

by Jose Zuniga
Welcome to my world where the main game is that of the mind from sun up to sun down. The warden here seems to think it's funny to deprive people of certain privileges because of the color of one's skin or a prisoner's political beliefs. The truth of the matter is if he decides to screw you "he can" so one can only be doing their time as best as one can. This prison is racially segregated as Hispanic, white, black, (and other people from foreign countries), that being said you have up to one thousand different personalities to wake up to, not counting the staff and correctional offices and one must definitely take one day at a time. The mind can only put up with so much before the mind shuts down common sense and thought process of rationalizing things. Violence of any nature is by far the most basic reaction one can expect from people when provoked, even though it is immature. I personally believe that boredom is what leads to the lonely, expected mind games.
